Antique Wintergarden Door Renovation at the U.S. Chief of Mission Residence in Prague

 GEMA ART GROUP a.s. awarded a tender for restoration of the antique winter garden door at the US Chief of Mission Residence in Prague. The Otto Petschek villa, where the residence is located, is a major landmark of the beginning of 20th century architecture. This precious villa, built in 1924-1928, was designed by the famous architect Max Spielmann in the French Beaux Arts style.

Architectural and MEP works for the setup and equipping of the Erbil Citadel's Interpretation Centre, Erbil, Iraq

The Erbil Citadel represents a unique example of historical urban area developing on an artificial mound (tell) comprising remarkable settlement layers dating from the 5th millennium BCE. The tell's importance lies especially in its being a witness to the ancient history of the place and its foundation and transformations, which continue to this very day. The Erbil Citadel has entered historical record in the second half of the 3rd millennium BCE, with continuity in naming, e.g.: Irbilum, Urbilum, Arbail, Arbela, Arbil, Erbil, or Hawler in Kurdish, which documents the long history of the site.

The Residence of the U.S. Ambassador in Prague, Czech Republic (Restoration of Interior)

Built by Otto Petschek as a home for his family, according to the design of architect Maxmillian Spielmann, in 1924-1928 in the French Beaux Arts style as a loose interpretation of Versailles. The United States of America gained ownership of the palace after WW II as a Chief of Mission Residence.

IRAQ - Course of Conservation of Paper for Al Atabah Al Abbasiyah Shrine, Holy Karbala

 

Gema Art Group a. s. realized advanced training course for experts from the Restoration and Conservation Department of the Library and House of Manuscripts of Al Atabah Al Abbasiyah Shrine of Holy Karbala from Iraq. Based on the requirements and current needs of the Library and House of Manuscripts the higher level program of the course for the Restoration and Preservation of Paper and Manuscripts was prepared. The course was focused on advancement of the experts knowledge acquired during previous course in the Czech Republic as well as during their work in Karbala in last three years.

IRAQ - Stabilization and Conservation of Minaret Choli, Erbil

The Capital of Kurdistan region of Iraq has extraordinary long history. Erbil's first historical record (as"Urbilum") is in Sumerian text from the end of 3rd mill. BC. Choli minaret is dated to the Atabeg period (12th Century). The structure was built from low burnt bricks and gypsum based renders and mortars. Due to the long term effect of deterioration, the essential part of the architecture has disappeared and thus the leaning minaret is the last survival of the past mosque. Project "Conservation and Stabilization of Choli Minaret in Erbil" was realized in accordance with the contract between GEMA ART GROUP a.s. and the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities of the Kurdistan Regional Government.
