Church of St John of Nepomuk at Zelená Hora, Žďár nad Sázavou, Czech Republic

The Zelená Hora complex with the Church of St John of Nepomuk at its centre is one of the greatest achievements of the Baroque architect Jan Blažej Santini. The unique building, which has a characteristic five-point, star-shaped ground plan, has been listed as a UNESCO World Cultural Heritage monument since December 1994. The prestigious status of the building underpinned the necessity for its complete restoration. All restoration methods and procedures were worked out by and consulted with top experts in the field. All tasks were carried out under strictly controlled conditions using most up-to-date technology.
The company GEMA ART GROUP a.s. contributed to the renovation of the monument by restoring the interior stucco elements, galleries and plastering. The work was carried out between the years 2006 and 2008.
Together with St Vitus Cathedral in Prague and the Church of St Barbara in Kutná Hora, the Zelená Hora complex was the most internationally renowned historic monument in the Czech Republic in whose restoration the GEMA ART GROUP a.s. participated.
