In addition to restoration and conservation of protected monuments, Gema Art Group is becoming increasingly established in other spheres of civil engineering. A typical example is the contract related to construction of a flood-protection wall in Velké Meziříčí.

Gema Art Group is also acting as a subcontractor in this extensive project, which also includes, for example, increasing the capacity of the channels of the Balinka and Oslava Rivers, construction of river-bank walls and improvement of the bridge structures of earth-fill dams.
Flood protection of the city has been an urgent problem for a number of years The inhabitants of Velké Meziříčí are regularly faced with flooding in the rivers. Following completion of the flood protection measures, the city will be protected against a hundred-year flood.
Gema Art Group performed construction of the left bank protection wall and reconstruction of the weir in this project. The work consisted in drilling small-dimension core holes and drilling with portable hammers, in establishing the heads of minipiles with pressure and tension stress and also in installing Portland slag cement anchors. Groundwork, such as improvement of steel interlocking piles, was also included in the contract.
The work organized by Gema Art Group, a.s. was completed by 28 February 2014. The entire project under the auspices of Metrostav will be finished by the end of 2014.
