Implementation: 07 - 11/ 2014

One of the projects in the second half of 2014 is a less extensive contract progressing in the interior of the Prague Rudolfinum. The work performed by GEMA ART GROUP a.s. was a part of the first stage in the two-year "Open Rudolfinum" project taking place under the auspices of the Czech Philharmonic Orchestra.

The project entails overall revitalisation of the interior of the historical building and improvement of its operation which, in practice, means particularly alterations of the Dvořák and Suk Halls, Ceremony Hall (Dvorana), Column Hall, the galleries and the facilities for the musicians and other employees.
The construction work carried out by GEMA ART GROUP a.s. has been progressing since the end of July 2014. The activities comprised reconstruction and expansion of ladies' rooms on the 1st floor of the building. The works consisted in dismantling and re-installation of the existing stone panelling, installation of new stone panels and modification of the steel structure, installation of new air handling equipment, fixtures and fitting, and modification of the existing electrical fittings and air handling equipment. Another part of the work is being carried out in the musicians' tuning rooms. Here, the flooring material (natural linoleum flooring – "marmoleum", carpets) and acoustic panelling are being replaced, the walls are being painted, and new electrical fittings and air handling equipment, including terminal elements, are being installed. The existing sanitary facilities for the musicians and other employees of the Czech Philharmonic Orchestra are also being reconstructed. New vents of the air handling system were installed in the Rudolfinum Gallery and fitted with new lattices. The vents had to be placed lower than before to enable better installation of pictures and artworks which are being displayed in the premises during exhibitions.
The work managed by GEMA ART GROUP a.s. will be completed at the end of November 2014 . The company already participated in improvement of the Neo-Renaissance monument from the end of the 19th century in 2007 – 2010, when the balustrades on the roof were completely restored.
